Hello, Doodly creators!
How’s your creative streak going?
Are you feeling inspired, caffeinated, or just juggling all the tasks on your to-do list? ☕ (We’ve all been there.)
Introducing your brand or services can sometimes feel like trying to assemble IKEA furniture without the instructions. (Seriously, where does this extra screw even go? 🤔)
It’s not impossible, but it can definitely feel overwhelming when you're short on time or resources.
At Doodly, we get it.
That’s why we’ve created a library of ready-made templates to simplify the process.
Need a quick way to showcase your business values?
Or a simple way to share what your business is all about?
Or maybe announce something exciting without spending hours designing from scratch?
There’s a lot to say about running a business and showcasing what makes it special.
That’s why we’re highlighting one of our favorite tools today—the Mission and Services Template.
🎉 Got your mission statement ready? ✅ What about a list of services you offer? 🤔
If you said "yes," then keep reading!
We're going to make it super easy to plug your info right into the template. 🚀
(And honestly, who doesn’t love a good shortcut?) 😎
The best part?
While this template is super easy to use, there’s still plenty of room to make it your own.
From adjusting text and fonts to adding your own visuals, we’ll show you how to customize it in ways that make your brand truly shine. ✨
So grab your coffee, buckle up, and let’s dive into creating something amazing with this template! 🎥
Before you rush to get your business out there, let's take a minute to talk about something that may seem like just a formality: your Mission and Services Statement.
I know, I know. You’re probably thinking, “But I’m so excited to launch my business, why can’t I just dive in and tell people everything?” (Trust me, I get it. 😅)
But here’s the deal: having a clear mission and defining your services is more important than you think.
Think about it.
Would you buy a product if the company couldn’t explain what they do or how they do it? (I mean, yeah, I’m sure you’re as curious as me about that extra screw in IKEA furniture, but that doesn’t work here. 🤔)
Studies show that businesses with clear missions tend to build stronger brand identity and loyalty among customers (Simon Sinek's work on purpose-driven leadership explains it well).
Your mission statement is like the heartbeat of your business—it sets the tone for everything you do.
Without it, people might get confused about what you're offering or why they should care (and nobody wants that. 😬).
Now, what about your services? 🤔
Whether you're offering a product or a service, people need to know exactly what you’re putting on the table.
You could have the most amazing service in the world, but if it’s not clear what it is, people will either skip over it or get lost trying to figure it out. (And that’s a big no-no for making sales!) 💸
A well-crafted “services statement” tells your audience exactly what to expect. Clarity is king! 💥
And guess what? It also helps you attract the right customers, the ones who need exactly what you’re offering.
Plus, having this in place helps guide your decisions, marketing strategies, and even how you handle customer relationships (talk about a business superhero move, right? 🦸♂️).
So, yeah, a mission and services statement isn’t just a ‘nice-to-have.’
It’s a must-have for any business looking to make a lasting impression and grow. 💡
And lucky for you, Doodly has made it super simple to plug this info into your templates, so you don’t have to spend hours overthinking it. 🙌
Ready to see how it all comes together? (Trust me, it’s going to be smooth sailing from here. 🛳️)
Alright, Doodly creators, let’s get the ball rolling and jump right into the fun stuff! 🎉
Normally, we’d go straight for the “Create New Video” button, but today, we’re doing things a bit differently.
Ready to start customizing the Mission & Services template? Let’s do this!
Alright, let’s get started by finding the Mission & Services template in Doodly.
Here's how you do it:
Now that you've got the Mission & Services template selected, it’s time to get organized and name your project.
Let’s break it down:
Think of it as your project’s official name, so make sure it’s clear and easy to recognize—especially if you’ve got multiple projects going on!
But hey, no stress—if you’re not sure about the perfect title right now, you can always change it later while editing.
Having a name ready is helpful, but it’s not a deal-breaker!
Alright, let’s jump into the heart of it!
The Mission & Services Template comes with 10 pre-designed scenes—yep, 10!
That’s enough to cover your mission, services, and even a call to action to get your audience hooked. 🔥
And hey, if you're feeling extra creative and want to add more scenes, go ahead! The sky’s the limit, my friend. 🖌️
What’s awesome about this template is how flexible it is.
You can swap out text, change animations, toss in your own props, or even upload custom media.
Whether you’re aiming for something polished for a big corporate crowd or something more chill and casual, this template is your trusty sidekick.
Scene 1: "Our Mission" + Replace with Logo 🎯
Let’s get the ball rolling with Scene 1!
This is where your video introduces the star of the show: your Mission. You’ll see the words "Our Mission" in bold and a placeholder for your logo.
Ready? Let’s make it pop!
Click on the "Our Mission" text, and you'll see a few small icons appear at the top-right. Click the gear icon to open the Asset menu, where you’ll find the Enter and Exit Animation options. For the Enter Animation, choose Draw so a hand will sketch the text on screen. 🎨 Keep the animation duration short—around 2 seconds—for a smooth effect. For the Exit Animation, choose None, so the text stays visible as we move to the next scene.
If you want to add a little more flair, let’s spice up the “Our Mission” text with a pop of color. Select the text again, and notice a small pencil icon appears above it. Click on that pencil, highlight the word “Our Mission,” and then select the color picker option. Choose red (or any color that fits your brand), hit Done, and watch your text come to life with a bold new look! 🎨
You’ll see the text "Replace with Logo" sitting in the bottom corner. Click on it to delete this placeholder—it’s just a marker for where your logo will go. Head over to the Props tab on the left, hit the blue “+” icon, and upload your logo file. Once it’s uploaded, drag it onto the canvas, position it neatly in the same spot, and resize if needed.
For Scene 1, you have some flexibility with the logo. If you want it to show up as part of the hand-drawn effect, leave the Enter Animation set to Draw for the first scene, so it gets sketched in. But if you’d prefer it to stay stable across all scenes, set both the Enter Animation and Exit Animation to None. This will ensure the logo stays visible without any movement after the first scene.
That’s it for Scene 1! With the mission text popping in and the logo sitting steady, your opening scene is ready to shine. Let’s roll into Scene 2! 👇
Scene 2: Our Mission + Mission Statement
Let’s keep the momentum going with Scene 2! This is where we add your mission statement and polish up the design.
Here’s how to make it pop:
The "Our Mission" text from Scene 1 stays right where it is. Since we've already introduced it, there's no need for any flashy animations here. Just set both the Enter Animation and Exit Animation to None so it stays put throughout the scene. Simple and steady! ✔️
Next up, you'll see a placeholder that says: "<Your mission statement goes here. If you don't have one, create one. For example, Nike’s mission is…>"
Now, delete that and replace it with your own mission statement (this is your time to shine, after all!). 😎 Once you've got it in, let’s give it that polished touch. Set the Enter Animation to Draw for that smooth hand-drawn reveal. 🎨 Adjust the Animation Duration to fit your statement—about 9 seconds works great for our sample, but feel free to tweak it depending on the length of your own statement. For the Exit Animation, select None so the mission statement stays visible as we move to the next scene.
Just like in Scene 1, remove the placeholder text that says "Replace with Logo." 🚫
Now, copy your logo from Scene 1 (Ctrl+C) and paste it into Scene 2 (Ctrl+V). This keeps your logo consistent across scenes and reinforces your branding. 🙌
It’s best to keep the logo stable throughout the video. This means setting both the Enter Animation and Exit Animation to None for Scene 2, even if your logo was hand-drawn in Scene 1. This way, the logo stays in place and isn’t constantly animated as scenes transition, giving your video a clean, cohesive look that stays steady in the viewer's mind.
Now that your logo is set in Scene 2 with no animations, let's keep it consistent across all the scenes.
Go to each scene (starting with Scene 3), delete the logo placeholder, and then copy the logo from Scene 2 (Ctrl+C) and paste it into the new scene (Ctrl+V). This will place the logo in the same spot every time, ensuring consistency and a stable look throughout the video. Just repeat this process for all remaining scenes, and your logo will stay stable, without any hand-drawn effects. 🎥
Scene 2 comes with two characters standing next to the "Our Mission" text. By default, they’re set to Draw as their Enter Animation, which works well with the glassboard effect. ✏️
But if these characters don’t match your brand, feel free to swap them out! 💡
For custom characters, SVG files are your best bet to maintain that hand-drawn feel. Once you’ve added your new characters, just drag them into place and adjust their Enter Animation and Animation Duration as needed.
Scene 3: A Stable Version with a Smooth Exit
Scene 3 carries over much of the content from Scene 2, but this time, we’re preparing for a seamless transition to Scene 4.
Let’s work on refining the details:
Since we’re keeping consistency, the "Our Mission" text at the top will stay exactly as it was in Scene 2—stable and unchanged. There’s no need to animate it entering, so set the Enter Animation to None.
For Scene 3, we want the "Our Mission" text to gracefully leave the stage. Select the text, and set the Exit Animation to Erase. This creates a clean, hand-erasing effect that aligns with the glassboard style.✨
The mission statement from Scene 2 carries over here, remaining stable on entry. Like the title, set the Enter Animation to None so it’s already present when the scene begins.
To prepare for the next scene, set the Exit Animation for the mission statement to Erase as well. This ensures both elements disappear in sync, creating a smooth transition.🌊
With these steps, Scene 3 is now a stable continuation of Scene 2, with a little added flair for a seamless exit. Ready to roll on to Scene 4? 👇
Scene 4: Introducing "Our Services"
Scene 4 marks the exciting shift from your mission to your services! We’re keeping the visual consistency from earlier, but adding in a little something fresh.
Here’s how to bring it all together:
Time to switch things up! Click on the "Our Mission" text and replace it with "Our Services." Don’t just leave it there—make it pop! Set the Enter Animation to Draw, and give it an Animation Duration of 1 second. This will create a sleek, quick reveal that grabs attention. 🖌️💨
Scene 4 carries over some props from Scene 3. If they still match your services, feel free to keep them. However, if you’d prefer to customize the visuals, head to the Props Tab and find something more fitting. You can even upload your own branded images to make it truly reflect your business. Just upload them and position them where needed! 🎯
Your logo is already set up consistently across the scenes, so no need for change here! Make sure the Enter Animation and Exit Animation are both set to None. This keeps your logo steady and professional, without any distractions.
Take a moment to review the layout. Is everything in place? If anything feels out of place or unnecessary, just delete or tweak it until everything looks perfect. 🧐✨
Once you’re happy with Scene 4, you're all set! Now, let’s move on to personalizing the rest of the scenes. 👇
At this point, you’ve already got the hang of editing scenes—adjusting animations, swapping props, and refining text.
Now, it's time to focus on the remaining scenes and make sure everything aligns perfectly! ✨
If you're a first-time Doodly user, it might still feel a bit tricky navigating through certain features or remembering where to find specific settings.
No worries though—we’ve got your back! 🎨
We'll walk you through each menu, showing you exactly where to find the settings and how to use them, so everything falls into place, starting with the Video Settings.
Video Settings
The Video Settings menu lets you make changes that apply to the entire video, not just individual scenes.
Adjust the background style to set a consistent look across your video, and select the hand style to choose how the drawing hand appears. You can also enable subtitles for your video, which is useful for adding captions or using it as a script for voiceover.
Once your voiceover is recorded, you can turn off the subtitles if you prefer.
The scene transitions option lets you control how one scene flows into the next, creating smoother visual changes. Be mindful when adjusting the video resolution, as it impacts the overall video size.
If you change the resolution (for example, from horizontal to vertical), it can distort the layout of your scenes, so make sure it matches your final desired output.
Finally, setting a video title gives your project a clear identity and allows you to keep it organized. These settings give you full control to fine-tune your video’s appearance and functionality! 🌟
Scene Settings
The Scene Settings menu allows you to make adjustments that affect only the scene you’re currently working on. This is a great way to fine-tune the specifics of each scene without disrupting the rest of your video.
For example, you can modify the board style to give each scene its own unique look or change the hand style to keep things fresh and engaging. You can also set the exit animation for each scene, which helps create smooth transitions from one scene to the next.
A particularly useful feature in Scene Settings is the Extra Time menu.
If you feel like a scene is moving too quickly—perhaps you need a bit more time to explain a key point—simply add some extra time. This prevents your scene from rushing through important details, ensuring that your audience has enough time to absorb the message before moving to the next scene. ⏳ No more scrambling to keep up with the animations!
In addition, you can adjust the board style and the hand style individually for each scene, giving you flexibility to design each scene exactly how you want it.
By tailoring these elements, you ensure that each scene has the right vibe and pacing. This menu gives you total control over how your scenes behave without affecting the entire project. 🛠️
Per Asset Menu
When you click on an asset like text or props, you’ll notice a few helpful icons.
Here’s a breakdown of what each one does:
These options give you full control over each asset’s appearance and timing, making it easy to fine-tune your video. 🎨
Layer Menu
The Layer Menu is an essential tool for fine-tuning the timing and appearance of your assets.
You’ll find this menu on the right side of the screen, where the small scenes are listed in the order they appear.
Next to each scene, you can adjust the delay and animation duration for individual assets—whether it's a prop, character, or text. ⏲️
Here’s how the Layer Menu helps:
By customizing each asset's timing, you can ensure everything flows seamlessly, creating that polished, professional look for your video.
Importing Your Own Assets
Want to add a personal touch and make your video stand out? Importing your own assets is a great way to do just that!
You can bring in custom characters, props, font, audio files, or even logos to make your video truly unique. 📥
Here’s how it works:
By importing your own assets, you can personalize your video in every way, ensuring it aligns with your branding and creative vision. 🌟
Pan and Zoom Effects
Want to add some dynamic movement to your video? The Pan and Zoom effects are just the thing!
These effects allow you to add smooth camera movements, giving your scenes a more dynamic and professional feel.
Here’s how to use them:
Pan and zoom effects are a simple way to give your video a polished, cinematic feel. So go ahead, add a little movement and bring your scenes to life!
Adding Custom Draw Paths to Imported Assets
Now, here's something extra cool! 🎨
If you want to customize the drawing path for any of your imported assets, you can absolutely do that.
This allows you to take full control over how your assets are drawn onto the screen—so instead of just having them scribbled up and down, you can make the drawing path more dynamic and visually interesting! 🌟
To add custom draw paths to your imported assets, follow these steps:
With all these tools at your disposal, you’ve got everything you need to bring your vision to life!
Voiceover: Adding That Personal Touch 🎤🎙️
Alright, now that you’ve polished your scenes, it’s time to bring everything to life with your voiceover!
This is your chance to make the visuals sound as amazing as they look. 🎧✨
How to Add a Voiceover 🎤
You’ve got two main options to add a voiceover to your video:
Voiceover Tip: Record Per Scene for Easier Editing 🎤✨
Here’s a pro tip that will make your editing life way easier: Record your voiceover per scene! 🎬
Why? Breaking it up by scene gives you full control over timing and tone for each part of the video.
If something doesn’t sound quite right, it’s a lot easier to fix and adjust for just that scene, rather than dealing with one long recording. 🎧✂️
Recording per scene also ensures smoother syncing with your animations and props.
Syncing the Voiceover to the Video ⏰
Once you’ve got your voiceover in place—whether it’s imported or recorded—it’s time to sync it up with your video.
You’ll see your audio track appear at the bottom of the timeline. From here, you can drag the audio to the left or right to make sure it lines up perfectly with your scenes. 👌
If you notice that a scene is too long or too short compared to your voiceover, don’t worry!
You can simply adjust the scene duration (using the Scene Settings menu) to match your voiceover timing. 💻🔧
Final Touches: Adjusting Background Music 🎵
Now, for the music. 🎶
The template already includes background music, which is awesome, but you’ll want to make sure it doesn’t overpower your voiceover.
To avoid that, lower the volume of the music track to around 10% or less—this way, your voice is the star! 🎤✨
You can also make the background music fade in and out by right-clicking the music track in the timeline.
This adds a nice professional touch without distracting from your voice. 🎧🎶
Once everything is synced and sounding just right, hit Preview and listen through the entire video to make sure your voiceover matches the visuals. ✅
If everything sounds perfect, you’re all set!
Before we put the finishing touches on everything, let’s take a peek at how your hard work is coming together!
